randyman78596 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 http://imgur.com/sIwDA33 there is the box specs .. here are the subs that are in it http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ye65byiWvbD/p_037AW1051S/Audiobahn-AW1051SE.html
randyman78596 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 what u think about those specs??should i have placed the subs in a different spot on the front panel??if the subs have a different degree of break in will they both eventually get to the same level of a 'maximum' break in??
_paralyzed_ Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 It's fine, it's all fine, you are over analyzing it.
randyman78596 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 so what could the explanation be for the little more excursion ?? im just wondering... i also put my ear to each sub while playing and noticed that the one closest to the port played a little lower. this is kinda a trial for me, learning what to do and what not to for future box builds...
CleanSierra Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 The explanation could be that one sub is unloading and the other is not. I highly doubt that is the case though. Does it sound good? Are you worried that it could loser if both subs were moving exactly the same? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
randyman78596 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 i have had quite a few setups of different sizes, single and dual setups, prefab and custom, sealed and ported and none have hit all the notes like this setup...this one doesnt seem peaky with certain notes...whether it be high or low notes it sounds like the same volume through them all...i can notice that one sub close to the port moving more though lol. i have ocd or something..
Joe X Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 If you swap the subs and it happens the same then is likely unloading, the box specs are fine and is correctly laid out with an extension length of 8" as you described. The way to avoid potential unloading issues is doing the box like this:
