Alternator Question

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to upgrade from my factory (130A) alt. Mostly because i wanted to add another amp for a decent component system. I've been needing a new alternator for awhile now and i was wondering if this one is worth a damn because I'm "ballin on a budget" but dont wanna spend less for a junk alternator. . I am running 1800wrms for the sub right now and will want to add another amp for whichever component system i decide on. Thanks for any input it is much appreciated.

EDIT: link didnt appear---- ALT

Don't get it. You'll have a crappy alt and be out $150

These are the only companies I would ever buy an alt from. If it's not from these guys, don't bother.

DC Power, Mechman, Singer, Excessive amperage.

Meh, only alts Id buy are Singer, DC Power, and Mechman.. In that order

I don't feel like you REALLY need an upgraded alt for 2000wrms, especially with a 130A stocker.

If you still want a cheap option.. Didn't ford make emergency response vehicles? I believe those have higher output alternators. Who knows, they may be cheaper or maybe you can find one used.

I figured for that price it couldn't be very good. I appreciate the input from you guys I'd rather spend the money for a good alternator than drop 150 to only go drop the money on a good alternator lol
