bcbrassard Posted December 28, 2017 Author Report Share Posted December 28, 2017 Sub was rated 200 rms/400 max and i had it wired down to 2 ohm so it was seeing 400+ watts and i had the punch remote set properly when i used my DD-1. As bad as the coil's where burn't someone was playing dirty music and clipped the shit out it. No issue's for 3 yrs and then poof! Something sounds fishy. I contacted RF and found a repair shop that will fix it for $100 and that includes return shipping. I think it will be worth it. Fuck it why not. Nice to have extra equipment lying around. All i have JBL 4" coax, and a RF P500-5 amp. Good amp, 110+ watts per ch. Malibu has one it and sounds really good. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My brother bought the sub and i bought the grille since they are considered a extra. $19 off amazon and way better than the Bar grille he put on. The R2 10" was rated for 200/400 this rated for 300/600 so i think it will be a better match for the P300-1 amp that puts out 450 watts @ 2 ohms. Difference between the R2 and P3SD4 10" subs. R2 is stripped down. So interesting note. If you buy a Loaded RF enclosure and looking at 10" subs in a wedge box RF uses the same box for both these set ups on there website. Should be interesting to hear any difference in the 2 set ups. And of course i couldn't do upgrades without adding my favorite & easiest audio improvement so i bought these for the front doors. Before he bought a dual bar cover which would still allow things to possible hit the sub. Not now, totally protected. The P300.1 is mounted behind passenger seat. And that PBR300x4 is still working good after 3+ yrs of everyday use. Still a good looking 09 Ranger and now sub stage is working again. He just did a tune up so back to 26 mpg which is good. Gas is up to $3.30 a gallon. Our state has made oil for the country for 40 yrs and we have always paid some of the highest gas prices, just doesn't make sense. So I hate that Pioneer AppRadio 4 he has, It has shit for tuning capabilities. The AppRadio apple pay was 10x better. Someone turned the eq to powerful instead of flat and i now know thats why the sub RF R2 sub blew which then caused the amp to blow. I put it back to flat and if something happens again he can pay for all replacement of blown items. I bought the amp because i felt bad that something happened.
