Due to where my alt is, My alt to bat run and a Ground gets warm. i dont think its anything to worry about but i would rather be safe then sorry.. I actually keep mine in front of the heater right before installing lol Edit: It takes a generous amount of heat to actually melt the jacket. It will be too hot to hold well before you need to worry about thermal limits.
