CleanSierra Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 You'll assume the risk of blowing it. Snowdrifter has a great response for this. It all comes down to if it's right for YOU. Are you ok assuming the risk that if the amp fries, you can replace it? Are you prepared to replace your sub/subs if the amp takes them out in the process? No one can tell you if YOU RUNNING half ohm is a good idea, is a decision you and you alone have to come up with and pull the trigger. On a side note, be prepared to feed it power. I don't think just one battery would make ME comfortable running half ohm. I don't think relying on impedance rise would make me comfortable that it would rise above 1 ohm and be safe for daily. What purpose are you trying to achieve running that amp at a half ohm? Are you just needing some extra power? Buy a bigger amp, run it at one ohm and be done with it. Or add a second battery to feed this amp at half ohm and set gains properly. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
