Joe X Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Your net volume looks way low and your port layout is incorrect (cross-sectional area needs to be constant), that can't be sounding any nice regardless of the amp you use. I would also suggest a full redesign if you have enough space for 4 of them ported
dsw422 Posted March 19, 2014 Author Report Posted March 19, 2014 SO that means that the port width should be the same all the way through correct?? If that is so, then should I add in some mdf to make the wider port areas smaller and change the beginning port (inside the box) 1.5 inches as well?? 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
dsw422 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 If a full redesign is absolutely necessary. any ideas??? My Height cannot go any higher than 14" and my width 36" depth no more than 16". And all 4 need to face forward... hard to come up with a design.. huh??.. lol.. thanks for any help.. pics of ideas are helpful... 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/

I added another 2 inches to the depth, but w/e.. lol.. what do yall think?? it'll be one whole box instead of 2 ports like before.. 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
Triticum Agricolam Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 I would suggest against having your subs face up. Its just a recipe for trunk rattle that is not easily fixed. I actually think your original layout may be able to work, it will just need some of the dimensions tweaked a bit. The dimensions you listed in your first picture, are those inside dimensions or outside dimensions? CleanSierra Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Eliminate the port altogether and just clamshell them like you have. 4 subs sealed should sound really good. I like your woodworking skills Get rid of that port and just run sealed, rather than skimp on port area with all 4 subs. A nice sealed box can sound MUCH nicer than a ported box where internal volume or port area is sacrificed. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

dsw422 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 Ok.. Ill go ahead and seal it up and remove the port.. If i dont like the sound of it sealed, what should i do? I still think my new design above would sound great.. if i do that i would definately seal off the trunk cuzz i too hate a trunk rattling... And what about the port? is it in a good spot or should i place it elsewhere like forward facing or so on??What do ya think??? 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
