Current draw .5 and 1 ohm?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am currently running one BC3500 at .5 ohm . I will be getting my other 3500 tomorrow then they will both run at 1 ohm each.

I was just curious as to how much more current draw there is going to be. one amp at .5 and now both amps at 1 each.

I know there will be good bit more. Just wondering roughly how much?

Anyways, thanks :D

That amp should be close to 5K on good voltage at .5 ohm. Two 3500s at one ohm should be good for about 7-8K. Obviously ideal conditions and keeping voltage. Real world, my guess is probably close, assuming voltage can keep up.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I will bet money that you wont gain anything going to two amps. Draw will be the same. Honestly man save your money.

Another 200A+

Im sorry but in no way is this going to happen.

Edit: for example. Say you have 3x impedence rise at a 40hz frequency. Starting at 1 ohm you rise to 3 on both amps. Now with just one amp at .5 rising to 1.5, thats the same amount of power.

I have team mates that don't gain ANYTHING on the meter doing a swap like that. Only upside is amps stay cooler

I already have the other amp. Bought them both over a year ago. Just getting my other back from nendo repair tomorrow. Not costing me anything.

I already have the wiring ran ready for it anyways.

Would they be more efficent being at 1 ohm?

It wont come close to 5k more like 4k. I've been there done that. One 2500d at .5 was like 500 amps of draw. Two at 1 were like 580
