JEFFYBOI
If you have any question about voltage drop, consult the manual for the voltage range of your product. Don't stray outside of that range -- high or low and IMO you shouldn't need to worry about it I have checked the manual and the manufacturers website for specs on the voltage range and I cant find anything. I always thought when your getting close to the low 12 V range most amp don't like that. JEFFYBOI
Ok thanks guys. im gonna double check my voltage with a meter to see if my stinger meter is off any also. If so I can adjust he voltage to match and make sure its reading accurately. JEFFYBOI
Youll get alot of dif answers here.. First you should check to make sure the volt Meter is reading right with a dmm. After that. Personally below 12v or so on music is sketchy for long periods ie. Longer than 15 20 sec. 12.8 is right around battery resting which means your maxxing out the alt and starting to dip into battery reserve.. which is fine. Some ppl will say buy 10000 more bats and 5 alts below 14v is crazy. Others will say as long as it doesnt go into protect idc.. Etc. Most songs it stays around 13.5V and up. Just those 1 certain songs I find it hitting low 13 high 12V only for a second or 2.... Ya im double checking the meter. SnowDrifter
I had a stinger meter in my yukon. Was dead on with my DVOM. Played full tilt and was .3v off. When I wired to .35ohms and full tilt, 3.0v off. Real question is... Where was your volt meter wired to? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
