jandsaudio Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Hey my SMD fam whats goin on? I was wondering if I had any locals to Louisville KY that would be willing to help a member like myself out. Im having some trouble hooking up my headunit and thought maybe a local on here could help me out. I contacted a guy on here before who had the same exact truck with the infinity system in it, but he just kind of overlooked me and i havent heard from him since. Anybody know where I can find the map that has the tools on it? i guess that would be the best place to start. thanks guys
ChevyBoy95 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 what head unit? and it is REALLY straight forward. Just match the harness that came with the radio to the OEM harness. Just match colors, and solder/heat shrink together, clip back into the truck, clip into the headunit, slide it in.... but pictures would help, both harnesses, inside dash where radio is going, etc. Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
jandsaudio Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 yeah see ive tried that with 2 different HUs ha, ive matched colors across the board and soldered and then heat shrunk them. hook them up and I can get power to the radio and all the functions work on the radio, but I get NO sound what-so-ever. I dont know what else to do. I'm looking at buying a new HU, a decent one, the other 2 were old ones I had laying around. Im looking at the Pioneer DEH-X7500HD, just because I can get it for cheap and it looks like a decent HU. But other than that, the old HUs I used in my other truck and they both worked just fine in the other truck, just for some reason they wont in this one. My truck im digging into now is a 99 dodge ram 1500 and it has the 2 front door speakers, 2 rear door speakers and then 2 tweeters in the a-pillars.
finkster Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I have a lot of work to do right now but if I catch a minute on my lunch break in an hour I will help you out. If not, wait until 5pm Eastern time and I will get to it. DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living

EP95 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 My friend bronco had a problem like this, got everything wired up no sound, figured out it had a factory amp. Just looked it up, if you have the infinity sound system the amps are right at the speakers.
gr8handogoatness Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 If I'm thinking right the infinity system has its own amps. I don't know if this is possible for you but I can guarantee that it will work and be better than what you had before but run power to the head unit like you did before and then add an amp and use that amp to power new speakers that you replace the old with. A decent 4 channel and just run new wires from that amp to the doors and put in some good speakers. Again I don't know if this is what you want but I recommend it.
Rich Schenk Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Check crutchfield you probably need a special harness if you are going to integrate into the factory system. If you are going to bypass the factory amp. By running speakers off of hu or speakers off a 4 channel amp you need to run new speaker wires to each speaker.
