Popwarhomie Posted April 19, 2014 Report Share Posted April 19, 2014 No point in upgrading to 1/0 CCA unless you are trying to exceed 150amps(4 gauge OFC rating) No point in upgrading to OFC 1/0 unless you are going to exceed the 250 amp rating of CCA 1/0 Im not pulling over 250 amps so I run CCA 1/0 If I were pulling over 250 I would have OFC 1/0. alaskanzx5 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Share Posted April 19, 2014 Buy enough 0gauge ofc to do the big 3. by big 3 I mean batt ground alt to batt power alt case/mounting bracket/mounting bolt to frame another good idea is a common ground for the battery and alt. that upgrade should help slightly for voltage drop but not much. other then that you can look for a decent agm replacement battery for the stock battery. if you can manage it upgrade the battery and do the big 3. try relocating your amp grounds to see if you can get better voltage. Make sure its bolted down solid and free of paint. at the end of the day the biggest issue is that the alt can't keep up. also how are gains set and are you using any boost? voltage drop that low with those amps is fairly bad. On music your only pulling roughly 100-150amps.
