GSanders17 Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 I was curious if anyone has ever dealt with returning an alternator to them and getting a refund. I drove to work today and had my multimeter in place to get real voltage readings directly from the battery and this alt is dropping to 13.4 with nothing turned on. I'm done fooling with it, I won't do it a 4th time so I'm just going to send it back and request a refund since they can't get it right. I know they are spoken of very highly around here but was curious if anyone has dealt with returning and refunds.

GSanders17 Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 Whats an AVBM? No its the same alternator all three times. They replaced the voltage regulator the first time and sent me a gm regualtor to put in it the second time around. It was good for like the first three days and every since its been getting worse and worse. I checked the belt tension last night and its fine. I'm beyond frustrated with this damn thing.

GSanders17 Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 The alternator or outside temp? I ask because Anthony at dc said the outside temp would affect the voltage and its probably mid 70's today but it wasn't warm yesterday and still did it. It started at 14.8 when I first cranked it to head to work and leaving my neighborhood it dropped to 14.6 and by the time i got to the gas station which is a quarter mile and the motor still wasnt showing full operating temp it had dropped to 14.0. On the way to work it was staying around 13.9 would jump to 14.2 and then down to 13.7. It dropped to 13.4-13.6 by the time i got to work. No radio, no lights, no a/c, nothing was on.
TRON Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 It's definitely not going to get 14.4 with no accessories on, especially if your battery is fully charged.
