tuning frequency depends a lot on cabin gain and the peak frequency you are looking for, most 4th orders peak around tuning frequency and your car´s resonant frequency is 48 hz so tuning is correct, your problem is the way your cabin acts non walled on a 4th order , is hard to explain but explorers/mountaineers are VERY peaky with that, that´s why i recommended you couple of years ago to do 4 12s non walled or maybe the 6 12s so you could disipate the heat better with more voice coils and power.

I hope that box works for you my man, i know you spent tons of money and time on it!!

Just in case you need it, here´s my loudest 4 12s box in the explorer, car did over 155 @ 45 hz on shitty subs.

Box: 17" Hight (double baffler) x 41" wide x 28" Depth , 3 psp aeroports 6" and full lenght, box should be about 8.5 c/f tuned to 33 hz.

For 6 12s, i would do 20H x 42W x 30D using 4 aeros 6" and 17" long each one

i´ve always thought this, before doing a wall i need to get LOUD on the cargo area, i had maybe 35 different boxes on the back before actually walling my explorer and most of them sucked ass but it was definitely fun , learned so many things about spl and the explorer itself, worthed every penny!!

For 6 12s you can build a nasty wall for sure, i can give you the max dimensions of that car building the wall outside and slide it inside thru the back

Got more stuff done this weekend box is on hold till design is finished so ran another run of 1/0 shca ofc to the back

And ran wires to turn on and off fans, highs amp, mids amp, sub amps
