Noel989 Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 You will be wire at 4 ohms At 4 ohms it "does" 250 watts Best case the amp will probably do 125 watts That's only enough power for half a sub What's your budget? Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
xxgokouxx Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 I don't think that amplifier's worth it. Nor the subs. EDIT: Here's a diagram of how DVC 4-ohm works: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42
Krakin Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 I agree with the above about not being worth it. Even if you have no idea what you are doing, don't waste money on something of inferior quality. Get something good so that when your noobiness bites you in the butt, your equipment will save you, instead of making everything worse. I HIGHLY suggest you read through this link as much as you can until you fully understand what it is telling you. http://bcae1.com/ Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
xxgokouxx Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 You can also throw us a budget of what you can afford for your subs and your amp. Most of these folks (excluding me, as I'm still pretty new to this stuff myself) can lead you in the right direction of what you can buy (of decent quality) in your price bracket. GL!
