randyman78596 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 here is the link to the box specs http://imgur.com/CKaC6nY the box is a 3 common port , 34" wide by 20" depth box , port width 4.25" the physical port length is 23 inches i calculated one port wall cut at 14.25 inches long' front to back' and the second port cut length is 7.25" to make an L port . when adding the baffle and the first port wall width '.75" ' it comes out to 23" , i need to keep a constant 4.25 inches width for the port...do i have my calculations right?

Yes your calculations are very correct. Reason being your port length is from the face of the box ( where the air exits) down to the far end of the port ( where the air enters) Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!

Smoove Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 So close. Only thing thing missing is sub, double baffle, and bracing displacement. without those being a factor you'd be good to go based on general rules Your staying right at recommended specs.Enclosure Recommendations:Sealed: 2.0 - 2.50 ft^3Ported: 3.0 - 4.0 ft^3 @ 35hz Hopefully your not gonna over power it. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
randyman78596 Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 did you see the screenshot of the torres calculator i put in the first post?, im probably not gonna brace or double baffle and i entered .15 for the woofer displacement..not gonna be overpowering it, at the moment its gonna be running off a massive audio d1200 which is 600 rms @ 1 ohm, later down the road maybe gonna get a different amp but nothing over 800rms for sure
Cj Kumz Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Yah better you stay within the recommended ratings. Happy building Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!
Joe X Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Going by your Torres I get the following, the figure below shows the assembly style used in the cutsheet:
randyman78596 Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 awesome thanks Joe, only thing i did differently was i didnt check the subwoofer facing up box so the cut sheet i got is different than the one above...so the program thinks im gonna mount the sub on the same plane as the port but im just gonna install it on the top..thanks for checking it out though, i just needed confirmation that i got the dimensions correct
