Just for future reference, you can get a later pan from a 4R100 trans (same case as an E4OD) and it will bolt right up and they come with drain plugs in them. I did this when I did my first trans service on my truck. Got the pan and new reusable rubber gasket from Ford for About $80.

Thank you, yes I saw that on a video, but I was pushing my luck with my wife on spending much more on this thing. SO I just put back on what I had. She doesn't know I just spent $100 more on Plasti-Dip. LOL. She's gonna kill me for that!

Ok let's finish this up.

So the night previous to this, when I did those battery cables, I did manage to fire it up and do a very very quick tune. Just to keep it running. I ran into a couple of other things that worked themselves out. The headers paint did not stay on them. Peeled themselves right off. Interesting because that paint is for headers, and it was primed with it. So, I don't know. But it is what it is now. So now, I needed to use this bad boy, and get this thing purring! But, how am I going to do this on my own. I can, I bought a trigger starter, then I could just get it where I need it, and just pull the coil wire to stop it, but I don't like to do that. I need an assistant.

Meet my silly smiling daughter, also doubling as my assistant. BTW, those are all empties on the workbench back there. All except for one bottle of the yellow prestone. Amazing how much fluid this thing takes.

So my daughter got a lesson in starting a vehicle and being safe etc. She's all to happy to be in this seat. We tuned it to my target of 12* ATDC, and got the Tranmission fluid in it, and she purrrrrrrrrsssssssssss!!! So happy.

Trim time. The frames needed some help so I gutted them.

I'm just going to plasti-dip them so the next owner can do whatever they want to with minimal work. I just want it to look good to sell it.

The grill was in bad shape. The chrome tape was coming off so I decided to just peel it until I got to solid stuff. Then give it the same treatment.

I pulled the ford oval of coarse!

This is the skirt, it gets the same treatment.

Here it is dipped in black.

And the grill dipped in black as well.

Now after some thought, I realized that the white under here will stick out like a sore thumb with all of that black. So I have to do something about that too.

That'll work!

Let's start putting it together. I'd love some new headlights, but it's not in the budget right now.

Grill on and the oval. Dang that A/C condenser stands out doesn't it. Oh well.

And the driver side too. I probably could've peeled it as well, but I didn't think about it until after the fact.

Got the hood down and adjusted and it's about as good as it's going to get. Yes, I'm sure you all see that fluid on the ground down there. That's where I was having a leak at the heater hoses. It's just one honestly. But it was causing a problem. I've ordered some new constant pressure clamps so we'll see if that will help or not. Also, next up is a video, so watch for that, and in the up coming weeks, I'll be washing it real well and dipping the rest of it black.

Ok a little update for everyone.

The problem (leak) I had in the heater hose where it connects to the adapter to the block, well it's fixed! I bought some constant pressure clamps off amazon, and I wanted to change both heater hose clamps. The one that leaked and the other one, which came out of the water pump, but it wasn't leaking. I couldn't get that one off already. Not sure why, didn't really pay much attention, just didn't want to force it or anything and end up ruining it. SO I left that hose clamp on there. I put the CPC on the other hose, and left the silicone wrap on the adapter, and filled the system back up with fluid. I let it sit all day, and then the next day fired it up, let it warm up for about 10 or 15 minutes and no leaks. I let it idle for another 15 minutes and still no leaks. I had to go to the dump, again, and I drove it there and checked it when I got there. Last time I did it, with the leak, it had a bunch of RAD fluid all on the block and in the valley where the distributor sits. This time, nothing. Turned it off, emptied the truck of the trash (bushes, lol my neighbor isn't happy - but to hell with him I couldn't get my trailer in my back yard and they were on my side anyway). Drove home, checked it again, and it's dry! WOOT!!

So at this point the motor portion of the rebuild is finished! I'm so happy, it drives so well, and the power is fantastic!

But alas all good things must come to an end. So at this point, I've cleaned it up, yes even washed it, and it's looking pretty good. Next up is to get the sample plasti-dip off the passenger doors. Once that's done I'm going to start painting the whole thing in black plasti-dip. Then she'll be going up for sale.

So things are almost completed here. I'll update as I go through the painting process.

Yeah I'm planning to dip the whole thing black, unless I get too desparate for money then I may have to do the mirrors and clean her up and put her up for sale. At this point I may just dip the grey stripe in grey again to clean it up, and then call it good. There's a red tint coming through the grey, has been since I've owned it and it's always driven me nuts. My wife was actually talking about having it painted before we sell it, and while I'm excited she actually wants to spend money on it, I don't think it's a good idea. I'd rather re purpose that money some place else.

So I've got a question seeking advise from everyone. I can take some better pictures too if you all need. No bullshit either please, I don't want the "oh it's a ford, sell it for a cheeseburger" comments.

SO what I'm looking for is some advise on what I should list this truck for. There is two parts to this question.

Part 1 - with all of the mods that have been done (listed on page 1, post 1), including the engine rebuild, sitting as it sits with the original paint, what should I list it at? My original thought was I've seen some on CL going for around $5k and they're high miles on original engine and in very rough shape. I was thinking of listing for around $7k obo and just see where I go from there. These OBS Fords are a decent demand for the Ford lovers.

Part 2 - Obviously all of the same stuff in Part 1 of the question. The difference with part 2 is, I would plasti-dip the truck in black, and possibly get a new bumper. The front bumper is bent from an accident a few years ago. There was no damage to the truck other than the bumper. I could just get a new bumper from a yard and replace it. I'm just wondering if by doing these things would I get more money out of it? What should I list it at if I do these things to it? What about adding window tinting?

Those are the two parts to the question. I could use some help. I'm a little bound right now financially and I need to get this thing listed. If I need to paint it (plasti-dip) and get a new bumper, then I'll need to get on that right away so I can get it listed asap.
