bassman619 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Report Posted May 29, 2014 YESSSSSSSAS JOE X COMES THRU WITH THE AWESOME ASS BOX DESIGN. PERFECT..NO but would it be ok to over power with that box ..I was planning on about 2200w rms..sub is rated 1500 rms You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
CleanSierra Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 He specifically said, power to what the sub is rated at. 700W+ over what the sub is rated for, is not rated power. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

True but unless you know of a good amp that will do 1500watts rms at 2ohms for 500 dollars im stuck with what I have access to..the sub is a dual 1ohm so my only options are 2ohm and .5ohm and either way id be over rated because I can get 2 1100w class d amps for 500 and theyll strap together to do 2200wrms at 2ohms You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
bassman619 Posted May 30, 2014 Author Report Posted May 30, 2014 And the sub would really probably only seea little less than 2000watts due to the voice coils actually bEing slightly over 1 ohm each plus box rise You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
CleanSierra Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 You just asked about power. I just wanted to highlight that he did mention the box was designed for rated per Joe's suggestion. So you asked if it was safe to overpower the sub in that pay, I answered with information I saw available. Basically what I'm getting at: You're assuming the risk. If you're comfortable running a bit overrated to the sub, have at it. It just won't be Joe's fault for a box flaw if you put the screws to it on a 24 Hz blast and the sub comes apart. Be careful with the volume knob and set gains correctly(and possibly conservatively with an O scope or DD1). You should be ok I'd you're smart about how you play your system. But no one can guarantee the longevity of your setup if you don't take measures to make sure you're keeping the frequencies you okay, and volume knob in check. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

CleanSierra Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Hmmm, which box design? I don't even remember. PM me maybe haha Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Joe X Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 YESSSSSSSAS JOE X COMES THRU WITH THE AWESOME ASS BOX DESIGN. PERFECT..NO but would it be ok to over power with that box ..I was planning on about 2200w rms..sub is rated 1500 rms Based on available data for this sub you should not experience box related issues (properly built box) with the extra power as long as the subsonic filter is engaged and power + gains settings are done properly. Regardless any significant overpowering is not safe for a sub and very likely will shorten long term reliability so proceed at your own risk.
bassman619 Posted May 30, 2014 Author Report Posted May 30, 2014 hey joe x . you asked if id like any changes could you possibly make the box 30' wide and 18' tall and throw in some bracing ..maybe some dowels and bring the internal net volume to just under 3ft^ You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
Joe X Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Changing the dimensions to 18h, 30w would result in a 2.3 net box so not feasible only very slight changes may be done, also, you really don't need the bracing but you can add some if you want, you can do a front to back and a top to bottom braces wooden or metallic, the bracing displacement would leave you very close to 3 cubes net.
