Mr.JaunDurfle
Looks real good! Could you put some thin foam tape around the port and then put them wire screen on that? It might help with the flapping and rattle. 2001 VW Passat Sportwagen Alpine ICS-X7HD DC Audio 5K SSA 15" XCON Tantric Sounds 6.5HD's, Sundound Audio SA-6.5CS Incriminator Audio IA6.4 XS batteries, KnuKonceptz wirez, Second Skin

IH8PunkRok
So my friend Denny (GTOGuy) helped me solve the problem of my flapping port cover. He said to get some metal that would work and just polish it to match the aluminum rails I'll be adding. So I did Now in order to make this thing flush I needed to raise is 1/2" from where it was mounted on the box. So that means bending This piece is being used to essentially flush mount the sub so that the floor can sit level Unfortunately this is a terrible picture of it but the floor is now sitting flat, the port cover is installed, and all is looking good. Tomorrow I will be bonding the flush floor and the pretty floor together so that I can have something quickly removed. I will also be installing these I have 4 of them. These are to hold up the part of the floor that does not have the box under it when I am carrying something that would make 1/2" of wood bend I also covered the tops in silicone. IH8PunkRok
The floor is now completely functional First I installed the brackets ^ They dont go out very far but every little bit helps when the wood is thin I pl'd the flush panel to the beauty panel and now it is one solid removable piece Next was to line up and mount the port cover and boom Seats up And so all can see, they are indeed flush. Now I can start worrying about how to trim it all out to get rid of the nasty edges. And aluminum. there will be aluminum -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build

IH8PunkRok
I got to go to my parents house and my Dad has every tool one could imagine and loves to help with my projects. Needless to say we put in work I had looked at actual aluminum pieces for the trim, but it was expensive and I had no way of cutting it. So I opted for some cheap sticky shit. I know for a fact that dude at advanced auto judged me hardcore as I was buying this lol Anyway I taped and painted the port cover. I wanted all but the top surface to be black so it would blend in. The top was to be polished Next we fixed the crappy jigsaw cutout I had made with a router and prepared it for the trim pieces *NOTE* pay no attention to the backside material as it will not be seen Next was the sketchy part. The trim I bought for the port and sub is the u shaped trim for doors. Turns out this wood was far too thick for the opening. So we fixed it with a router, a rabbet bit, and a steady hand We did the same treatment to the port side. Next I was able to attach the trim. It was this moment I began to get excited and thusly forgot to take pictures Unfortunately the extruded port cover was not going to work with the trim due to lack of material around the port. Luckily it was steel and bent right back to flat. We then took the flat piece and sandwiched it between the floor and another piece of wood below the trim. It gave the piece a nice recessed look that I really like Next step was to put it in the car and lay the large trim pieces. and voila I still have some areas I need to work on to give it that real OEM look but I am quite happy with it excuse that piece of dust on the sub... didnt notice it until now. bleh -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
