Lifted2000Ford4x4 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 I'm walling my extended cab F150, looking around 16 cubes net when all said and done, 4 15's, Hifonics Brutus BRZ15D4 at the moment on about 2k RMS. Port area? Tuning to 32-34hz. wanna play low, but still have the higher end. So how much port area?

So how much port area? ill be honest, 2k rms for a wall will be disappointing. high expectation, low results what does the manufacturer recommend for port area per 15?

Honestly man, not lookin to set records, or blow my windows out... just yet, getting myself set up for bigger and better things in the future. already had a plan to wall in the future, why not do it now. not the most impressive subs, but shit... it will get the job done for the time being. upgrading to better subs and more power in the next few months, just want the wall to be there and something in it to have something to listen to. And funny enough i read through your build log last night, i like what your doing. turning out good as well.

I guess my rationale is if youre going to build the wall dont skimp on the materials lie wood bracing etc. build it right the first time then switch out the equipment when the time is right. bottom line build the shell right from the start and youll be good. for 4 15s if it were me i would shoot for 300 sq inches of port so 75 per and honestly i would want more, but thats just me and im used to DD subs which want alot of port. i hate giving advice on port area and cubes because everyones goal is different and every car and piece of equipment is different.

TeamHT Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 It does not cost an incredible amount to build your wall properly over not doing it properly. If you're prepared to build a wall the difference in cost is negligible. Could always build the shell with 2x4s and then use a layer of 3/4 MDF to build or just double, even triple up on layers. It will be well worth it in the end. Even cheaper than having to redo it later Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
