OldsBoomer
If you have or do I am looking to get into building some dj/ concert systems or even big HT systems and would like to get some input from experienced people in the field. I am extremely green when it comes to home and pro in the actual applications. I want to learn about the amps/ processors and what not. I am decent with designing speakers that work well with each other but what to learn more. Suburban Coming Soon

Krakin
Be prepared to do some reading, and after like 10 pages having to look up stuff you don't understand.Document #1 https://www.jblpro.com/ProductAttachments/DanceClubBooklet.pdf Document #2 http://www.jblpro.com/ProductAttachments/pssdm_1.pdf Document #3 http://www.jblpro.com/ProductAttachments/pssdm_2.pdf Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Krakin
A common misconception about audio is that it acts in the same as light waves. When you add to lights together you increase the brightness without adding any distortion or other atrocities to the projected area. However, it is not the same with audio waves, when you have two opposing sound sources projecting into the same area you do not get the same affect as light. You get added distortion and room modes and nodes interfere with each other more. You should have one set of speakers cover a given area and another set another area with the radiation patterns crossing over the least amount as possible. Also, for EQing, never boost, only cut. Boosting creates distortion.
