Enough electrical for .5 ohm?

Recommended Posts

I have a optima yellow top under the hood and two xs power d3100s in the trunk along with a 220a alternator. Anybody think this is enough electrical to run a bc2000 at .5 ohm ?

Seems legit, should be enough as long as your not bumping it in idle for a long time

i doubt wiring the bc2000 to .5 will get him 1800 more watts. the most he might get out of it is 2k and even less after rise.. just as much as he will get with the bc3500 but a lot safer and with equipment not running the risk of going bad in 2 years

for daily its a risky situation running an amp at .5 ohms. music is dynamic and just like impedance rises it can also drop. for burping im all up for it. daily on music shit can go up in smoke

i think so

just one question.. why didnt you just buy 1 D3100 and use the money from the second one to get a BC3500 and run it at 1 ohm?

Well I first planned on 2 zv4s and a bc5500 but it was gonna take me til december to get everything I need for that setup. And I looks like now I may be enlisting in the military in october so I just wanted some bass back in my car to enjoy for now. So I had already bought these two d3100s from a member here for a good price in order to start my build but now plans have changed. I bought a zvx 15 v1.5 d1 from skar audios yard sale for cheap and now I want to get the amp so I can hook it up and finally have some bass again..I know .5ohm would be alot of power for this sub . But I plan not to turn up the gain to maximum undistorted..I probably set it to put out 1500w to begin with then turn uo after break in

Without reading everything else. What 220 amp alt? Big 3 done? How does your whole wiring situation look? Great grounds? What is voltage like now and what's it wired to now? Always, always have a quality volt meter installed that you can keep an eye on your voltage.

but if all things are correct above then yes
