Kade
Think I've been creeping on the forums long enough... Since my last wreck I was hesitant to invest a whole lot into my car. Then, unemployment struck. I needed something to pass the time. Not the smartest move with my money, but whatever. I still live with the parental units. They just make me cook dinner. The plan for this build is a quieter ride, clean tunes, and tip-top maintenance. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (plain as ever model w/ the most jank sized deck). Build items as follows... Deck: Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS Front fill: RF P16-S Rear fill: RF P1694 Amp: RF P1000x5 Sub: RF P3D4-10 Wiring: RFK4 kit Stinger Sl4612 6-channel interconnects 100' 16AWG SkyHighCarAudio Speaker Wire Accessories: RF PLC2 Punch Level Control knob 25sq.ft. GT Mat for the rear (bought it before I found out it was an asphalt based) 100sq.ft. Mega Mat Maintenance (so far): Cabin air filter Engine air filter Plan on changing brakes, rotors, exhaust, and sparkplugs. Doing some plastidip work and caliper painting in the future as well. ...this is where this car becomes a pain in my butthole... For the unbrave caliber owners. You need a 2007-2011 NAV Dash Bezel #88210579 and it matches the Metra 99-6510. Why? No clue. The radio my model has is a 1.5 DIN and there's a kit that fits it labeled as double-din. Don't be fooled, it's a 1.5 DIN kit. I don't know what aftermarket radios are 1.5 DIN. Although, I have seen some people mod the 1.5 DIN bezel to accommodate a double din in order to retain the cubby. I'm not that confident. Half of what's listed is in the mail. I'll try to get you guys more pics tomorrow. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. Kade
This is what came in the mail so far I changed both air filters first. Tell me if you can tell the difference in the new and old. I'm kind of disgusted by the cabin air filter. Here's that wack radio and a few pics of the rear stripped down. Sorry I didn't take pics of the car itself nor the car in stock before taking it all apart. It'll come soon. Not modding anything. Wanted to note something fishy. First, I didn't get a carfax on this thing. Didn't think I needed it. I had a bad leak from the back hatch and it would drain into my wheel well. Started to rust my spare a little. As I was taking out the seats and panels, I noticed little rice sized pieces of glass everywhere. Just wondering if/when the back glass got smashed. If that did happen, was there a pre-cut weather guard that went under the tailgate trim to keep water out? I had to rig up my own weather stripping under the trim last week. Hope it keeps the water out. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. I read your hatch leak statement wrong. I was thinking the leak was from a drain Dodge puts in some vehicles. Like my wifes Nitro has drain incase the sunroof leaks. when it gets clogged the hedliner gets soaked. Yes, if you'd like the extra power. Kade
It's like the stuff that's really interesting just won't come in lol Here's what I got today. I was thinking about transferring the PLC2 to a housing with 2 pententiometers running inline with the RCAs. I'd have sub and highs volume control along with the PLC2 as the master. Thoughts? And some glamour shots of my ride. Just washed and dried. I want some aftermarket trim on this thing so bad. Especially side skirts. If anyone is interested in a good listen. Check out Underoath. They won't be making anymore music, but what they've released in their 15+ years is magic. Aaaannndddd I finally got a call for a job today!!! Maybe I'll get some pics of the build up this weekend. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. Kade
Will most likely change these out to the power series speakers, but this is what I have so far. These were installed a few months back. Never posted. For the rear. For the front. Don't have a router table to make it look less jank or fit better, but this works like a charm. The rear speakers just needed a spacer, nothing fancy. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire.
