audiofanaticz Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 2 subs firing towards each side, port back
Weigel21 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 And until the new subs are fully broken in, they won't mix well with the older ones. So, you may want to break the subs in over night playing them free-air with a sine wave of the FS frequency of the sub.
Mareze Moore Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 thanks for the break in advice also would it be better to do and aero port
Weigel21 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Can't say what Audiofanaticz would say, but when it comes to porting, I tend to hear more encouragement to go with Aeroports than any other. After all, by design, they have a couple factors going for them.
audiofanaticz Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 There is nothing to break in on the SA series drivers, they are a relatively soft suspension on them, that holds its elasticity well even after months of abuse on 3times their rated power. Buy'em, install'em, bang'em.aeros are not the greatest thing to man, they have many factors going against them as well, limited sizes (diameter and length), their price to mention a couple main ones. After all its just plastic and $20-60 for a couple flared tubes gets costly fast. Your better off flaring your own from pvc
dolarbilz Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 2 subs firing towards each side, port back I would asume you have done this. any pictures or results with it? I'm interested to see
bassman619 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 I have an impala in that generation and I know the trunk space pretty well.. if you build the box inside the trunk you probably have about 10 ft^ of usable space ..the car also has a good sized hole in the center of the rear deck once you take that carpet off.. for that many subs I would say best option is a 4th order box ported thru the rear deck.. those subs need about 1ft^ each sealed so you have the subs firing forward and a big square port comming thru the deck looking like a chimney. Youd use 4ft^ for the sealed side and 6ft^ for the ported side ..it would put you at a 1:1.5 ratio..should perform nicely and if you seal the box off right and seal that rear deck well you could pretty much eliminate all trunk rattle completely You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
bassman619 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 I have also seen a guy who had two sealed boxes with two subs each in his trunk of that year impala..the subs were facing each other..it got loud but was lacking alot of sound quality ..he had old skool memphis m3 subs and ive seen 2 sound better than his four You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries
Mareze Moore Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 I don't really wanna build inside my trunk because at times I need to remove my subs but sounds like the best idea...seen pics of the two firing to each side never heard it tho and the sealed is a def no go heard that before
