HO alt on ebay.... seem legit?

Found this Alt for my 92 explorer. The fusing on my 2 amps adds up to 150 amps, but my stock alt is 95 amp and I figure and upgrade would be beneficial. (plan on adding another amplifier in the future.) I already have knuconceptz 0 gauge from my battery to cap, then knuconceptz 4 gauge from cap to amps. I've also done the big 3 with knuconceptz 0 gauge.

Does this seem like a good buy? It has a 1 year warranty and it's quite cheap for 200 amps. I figure if it checks out good from a couple people who know what they are talking about, I'll go ahead and order it. Thanks

They are garbage don't waste your money.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Dang thanks, Seemed too good to be true. I didn't want to have to spend the big bucks on a Mechman or other brands, Sounds like I'm going to have to. I've also heard of getting your stock alt rebuilt to higher amp ratings. Do you guys know of anyone who can do this? For roughly how much?

The issue with the ebay alts is they have shit idle output. Some of them have to have the engine at like 1200rpm before it will even turn on.

You can have a stock one rebuilt if you a a reputable builder but you have to watch out for idle output too wen you do that. Plus, some stock alts will have a greatly reduced life span when rebuilt because the extra heat produced.

You get what you pay for, so spending the extra money on a good alt will be worth it in the long run.

Well good to know they are a POS, guess I have to look at my options with the few alternator advertisers on the forum. Thanks for the quick feedback everyone!
