meade916
Those Chinese amps are made cheap and disposable. Amps generally don't give off smoke then continue to work. Throw it away and either buy a better amp or buy another disposable one. this. if you saw smoke, then forget about it. Getting a new set of RCA's will not fix the problem lol All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! adreano17
From his reply of "ohm or rms?" I feel he is going to tell us what OHM the speakers are. Not what i ment. I think you have a bad channel. Its either in the amp, or, after the amp, and one of the speakers. If the amp protects with NO speaker wires hooked up, its the amp. If it does with speaker loads, it could be a bad speaker(s) That said, a smoking amp, is NEVER good, and, i feel you may be purchasing a new amp. Nah, I knew what you mean bro lol. I was thinking you were hinting at the gains being too high. It only goes into protect with the RCAs hooked up. Doesn't even matter what channel the RCAs are. If I do any of the 4, protect mode. I am leaning towards bad channel because as stated earlier, all other channels work without problem. Jhunt94
Once you let the smoke out it doesn't like to work the same way anymore. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. adreano17
Damn. I am highly disappointed in Polk. I will try to open the amp after I def isolate the problem is the amp and nothing else. I don't want to buy another amp and that gets fried too. adreano17
I have an update. After additional troubleshooting, the amp is not going into protect mode anymore even with all connections. My tweeter is not working though. Is it the crossover? Ohm is still showing 3 ohms from the DDM so I don't think its any blown VC.
