afrakes Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 So we are keeping the stock deck and adding a mids/highs amp as well as a sub amp. What would be a good OEM integration device to do this. I don't really need an eq, but I'm up to the idea. I was considering the 3sixty.3, but I think it may be a little more then I really need at this point. Suggestions? Price isn't really an issue. Just quality. Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT Head Unit: Pioneer DEH- Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front) Subs/Amps: TBD
Robert8252 Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 I'm using a JL clean sweep and couldn't be happier. Super clean signal with no background noise. 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
mothra Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 depends on the car. most cars will just need a LOC of some sort, others need something to defeat the OEM eq curve. if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know
Taylor Campbell Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 I'm using a JL clean sweep and couldn't be happier. Super clean signal with no background noise. Clean sweeps are great. It has speaker level inputs for a factory radio. You play its test cd through your source unit and it flattens the eq curve (Many factory radios do weird stuff to make the cheap stock speakers sound better) and gives you some nice pre outs. Provides front and rear output as well as a volume knob and aux input.

I wanted the active EQ to make sure the signal wasn't messed with before amplification. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.0

Robert8252 Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 Does your car have a premium audio package such as center channel, subwoofer, or anything? Depending on the signal you may also need the JL summing unit which will convert a bass, midrange, and high signal together to make one 20hz-20khz signal. Audison Bit.10 or Rockford 3sixty would do this as well if you need this option. Nothing hurts to have either of these and will let you control a lot more of the stereo. 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff

Robert8252 Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 All the clean sweep does is take a factory high input, flatten the EQ and puts it into a nice RCA output. There is no customizing the eq(technically you can with the source track by customizing on your computer) it has no time alignment, no tweaks and adjustment. The Bit and 3Sixty do a whole lot more. But if you don't have a solid full range frequency to start with the clean sweep also needs the JL summing device added to get a full range signal for your amps which I know the Bit does and believe the 3sixty will as well. 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
