dharris2488 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Report Posted June 28, 2014 Joe X, does the Vb take into affect the displacement of the subs at .18 each? So, .36 cubes? Just curious before I start on this... Sketch looks great. 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere
Joe X Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 It's 0.19 cubic feet per driver and Yes is accounted for, Vb is (by definition) always net (after all displacements).
smashedz28 Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 Been wanting a pair of ethos since they were released. Quentin is a real smart dude. A lot went into those subs. Sure your gonna love it. They WILL be my next sub purchase.

Sure your gonna love it. They WILL be my next sub purchase. I was going to wait to see what his new lines of subs were going to be, as they are supposed to be out sometime this fall (so I heard). But the Ethos is everything I've been wanting in a sub, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger... I'm sure I didn't make a bad decision. Now, it's all on me with the box build and the rest of my electrical... 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere
nadcicle Posted June 28, 2014 Report Posted June 28, 2014 You didn't make a bad decision at all. I'm running four 15's in my suburban right now and I'm far from disappointed. These subs just perform like they are meant to and do very well in the lanes for me. They are a solid, well built transducer that just hammer out sound that's both loud and accurate. Hope your build works out for you!
Quentin Jarrell Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 Per Tony, SMD does not have a spot available for DSS to have a vendor section on the forum. Out of respect for the paying vendors and SMD policy I will no longer comment on DSS product.

Out of respect for the paying vendors and SMD policy I will no longer comment on DSS product. I just created an account over at SSA... I might have a few questions for you Quentin, regarding enclosure design. I will post over there on anything concerning DSS from now on, out of respect for SMD and their sponsors. 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere
