Kade
This design. How does it sound? I was wondering how this would work in lieu of my floor in the hatch. Not really replacing my floor, but making and elevated floor/sub box. Am I making sense? I do much fishing and I work in the electrical field. Usually have some tools back there. Edit: I just want to fill my hatch with some bass and still be able to cary all my crap. 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. JEFFYBOI
My buddy built a down firing sealed box for under the back seats of a extended cab truck with 2 Soundstream stealth 13s and they sounded really good more punchy nothing real low of course. I have not heard a prefab box like that before. JEFFYBOI
You can find something pretty compact that you will get way more out of then this thing back there... Plus this prefab looks like it will just rattle and fall apart. I think it would sound pretty bad. Kade
Thanks for the insight. Sorry I didn't explain myself clearer. I was just wondering about the design of the box. Not that particular brand/model. I want to make a sealed box like that to house some shallow mounts. 4 or 6 8s or 4 10s. My amp is Rockford p1000x5, 742w @ 1ohm. Robert8252
With that power I would probably just do a two Sundown SD 10s or 8s sealed if space is an issue. I had two junk 8" Pioneers on a 150 watts in a sealed box in my full size truck and they sounded really good for what they were, definitely better than upfiring. Could also build a box in the spare wheel well for a 10 or 12 and have a nice grill on it to protect it. 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
Kade
My friend has 2 of those sundowns. Like, shit. He hits 110 on a good day. Way too boomy for me. Even this P3 10 sealed is a little too boomy. I like the volume of the 10, but the punch doesn't come in til after my mirrors are shaking and my head is throbbing. 2 eights or even 2 shallow eights seem like they'd be more my taste.
