Looking for an amp to power my future sub. Sundown SA-12

Hey guys so once I sell my old set up I'm going to go for a single SA-12 and still haven't picked out an amp to use. The sub will be in a 2 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz. Here's my box thread...

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/189189-going-to-build-a-custom-box-for-my-sa-12-help-wanted-i-do-have-a-rough-design/

The sub is rated for 600w but I've been told it'll take 1000w-1200w with no problems.

I currently have an Alpine MRP-M1000 that I could use

I've been browsing at a Hifonics BRX-1200.1D - Has excellent reviews and does rated power also priced very nicely.

Looking to stay at or below the $300 range. I live in Canada but only 1.5 hours from the boarder so I don't mind going down to the states to pick it up as I have a kinek address to use.

Forget the hifonics, the alpine should be able to handle that sub nicely.

Edit. Since the amp I believe is stable down to 2 ohm, get the dual 4 ohm voice coil, that way you can run at 2 ohm.

Those look nice and I've heard nothing but good things. Will an SA-12 take 1200w?

I've got my set up for sale. 2 Type Rs and my MRP M1000. I've stated I'd sell them together or seperate. So if they both go I'll get a new amp If only the subs go I'll keep the M1000 and try it although I really am leaning towards a brand sub new system.
