Call Me Dubstep
Just a question popped into my head as to how much sound deadening i would actually need, At least for right now? 2 doors and a trunk? Just wanted to at least start on sound deadening. So I can see at least if I can try to squeeze it into my budget. 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 Mods: Raceland Coilovers Borla Exhaust Aftermarket Header System: Sony CDX-GT66UPW Pioneer 6x8's System Upgrades : Pioneer MVH-X560BT 2 sets of Rockford Fosgate P1683's Fi Audio Q 18" D2 ( Currently Own) DD M1C ( Currently Own) All SHCA Wires and stuff... audiofanaticz
measure the height and and width of everything together that you want to sound deaden. Say if your door is 2 feet tall, and 3 feet long, you multiply those 2 numbers. So if you want to do 1 layer on that door you will need 6 square feet. If you want to do 1 layer on both doors you will need 12 square feet. if you want to do 2 layers on both doors you will need 24 square feet. never knows best
also keep in mind that 100% coverage isn't always necessary. if you do a little research on technique and methods you can achieve full coverage results with much less than 100% coverage... No, it was just an example, and what you need done is going to be dependent on your budget, wants, and needs. Many people will do the inside of the outer door skin, and then do the inner skin also keep in mind that 100% coverage isn't always necessary. if you do a little research on technique and methods you can achieve full coverage results with much less than 100% coverage... Again, comes down to the vehicle and the system. I can tell you for a fact that 25% coverage that some speak of wont do crap for a 155db ground pounding vehicle.
