Could I benefit from running ground from front battery to back?

I'm fixing up my grounds tomorrow for my rear battery and my front.and was wondering if I would benefit at all to run 4ga OFC from front battery to back?

It's just extra I had laying around from an old build and don't have enough of my 0ga to do it.. Everything else in my set up is all 0ga OFC..

What do you mean "fixing"? Or do you already have a 0G short ground? I don't think it would matter much, plus I always say "that's why amp kits come with short grounds" and my rule is shorter the cable the better. :good:

Electricity will always go to the path of least resistance as I'm sure you know. Therefore if you add it ... And you see no gain.. It's because your body grounds have less resistance.

Short answer. It won't hurt. But obviously a 1/0 dedicated ground would be best.

In my opinion it won't help.

I've heard the shortest run possible for grounds is best. I've also seen many people do front to back (or back to front, whatever). I've seen people actually do both. No one has had any issues in any of those ways. It's all about personal preference...when it's done right.

By fixing I mean grounding to either my rear strut tower or finding a way to get to frame.. Currently it's grounded on a this piece of metal under my flap behind my back seats..

Go with 1/0 to the strut tower in the rear. 100%... That made a huge improvement for me from my random metal ground in the back... .. Then when I upgraded power I did a ground to the front strut tower. Gave me slightly better voltage.

Then when I upgraded power again I connected the strut tower grounds and that gave me another slight improvement.

this has been done so many times. YouTube that very question. you'll find a few hundred vids on it. and every one shows that running from back to front is not nearly as good as a short ground to the frame. some times the voltage drop is 1/2volts harder when run front to back. if you have a short 0g ground don't bother! and even if you only have a 4g ground don't run it all the way back. always try and make it 3ft or less.

Just a waste of time, money, and wire

Just ground the rear batt itself. Adding a full run probably isn't going to give you a big enough difference for you to notice

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

i will attest to this statement.

In my application i removed my ground runs ( 2 runs of 4/0) and just had my runs of positive from front to rear and grounded everything in the rear. I seen a .6 volt increase in doing this. I was floored!

When your at the top everyone is coming for you, friends, family, haters and even those who don't know you.. my advice.. KILL EM ALL
