thefourth Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 this has been done so many times. YouTube that very question. you'll find a few hundred vids on it. and every one shows that running from back to front is not nearly as good as a short ground to the frame. some times the voltage drop is 1/2volts harder when run front to back. if you have a short 0g ground don't bother! and even if you only have a 4g ground don't run it all the way back. always try and make it 3ft or less. Just a waste of time, money, and wire i will attest to this statement. In my application i removed my ground runs ( 2 runs of 4/0) and just had my runs of positive from front to rear and grounded everything in the rear. I seen a .6 volt increase in doing this. I was floored! Ninja recommended I do this a while back. My voltage increased about .3. Then again ninja knows his shit Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
hispls Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 If you're trying to use wire for the sake of using up wire, I'd think that adding additional 1 or 2 foot runs from - battery terminals to the frame would probably help more.
Ninja_v1.0 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 wow! and that was 4/0!.thats Nuts! so for here on its a complete waste of money and time! .6volts..shm thats crazy yeppers.. huge waste in monies.. the ONLY reason i tried it was because of tonys video he posted.. and fucking sure as shit my voltage went up.. keep in mind i still stay in the low 11's but it beats the 10's When your at the top everyone is coming for you, friends, family, haters and even those who don't know you.. my advice.. KILL EM ALL
Aj11 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 that's a few hundred watts depending on your gear. not to mention less clipping! I'm more shocked that dual runs of 4/0g didn't handle it. i mean that sht is fat! since were on the subject. how many grounds should each rear bat have? right now my single rear has 2 0g grounds. and each Mono has its own. the 4channel is grounded to the battery. I'm I'm planning on adding 3 more bats in my trunk. is one each enough? or should i do 2 each? if i do 2 each I'm gonna ground my amps to the rear bats. i already have the wire.. so its just drilling holes. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
