Wood Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Your source is clipping causing the amp clip. My source is 5v so I probably wouldn't even turn the gain past 25% lol... When I had my rockford power amps I barely had to move the gain.. not even a quater of the way 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
matt14 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 What are you using to judge that the nendo amps clip at low gain. I don't know it's just what people have told me lol so was trying to get other people to chime in Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. RossGo Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I've been trying to find some info on the s1500 nominal wiring stability and came across this threadNot to bring it back from the dead, but if someone is looking at nendo gear, this thread could scare them off.I have 4 s1500s. Yes, they clip at around 25% gain, but that is because I have 5v preouts going to them.Gain isn't a volume knob, it's a voltage matching tool.I promise you the entire symphony series sounds clean and puts out crazy power. I have 8 of them.I would recommend them to anybody. PS: I have them wired at 1.4 nominal currently and I cannot get them hot, even after 90 straight minutes of full tilt (0db DD1 clean) Yes I have a lot of stereo weight. I build for Smiles Per Gallon not Miles Per Gallon LOLZ My build - 1996 4Runner with 2 18s - 149+ in a sealed box (with radiators)
Miguels Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 i have tuned nendo amps with the DD-1 and have not seen nothing out of the ordinary. tunes jut like any other amp clipping at 25% is normal if you have a higher voltage pre amp signal.. the gain starts at 6v and max gain is 2v if you have a signal of 4v is about 50% gain. 5v signal is at 25%. many newer HU have high voltage output my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
[email protected] Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I have a nendo symphony s1500.1 running a skar audio zvx-18 with psi softparts All I can say is that's an awesome little amp, I went from using 2 bridged channels from a nvx jad800.4 to this monoblock and what a difference. I gain-matched it with a dd-1 using the -5db track. If I had to choose, I go with nendo all day by the way, I have 4 volts pre-out and doesn't clip at all.
mrd6 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 The UPS man is literally walking my s1500 and 800.4 to my door as I type this. I'll let you know how I like them once I try them out! My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
