DC 270A XP Alternator for '98 F150 4.6L = Flintstone!

Recommended Posts

Why is there no nice looking Clear Anodized in the 270 Amp XP Alternator for '98 F150 4.6L. The one shown looks like a caveman made it or it is from that cartoon The Flintstones.

I'm looking into getting a High Output Alternator! The guys at my local car audio shop said, DC all the way. they just output more at idle. That's what I need, I just sit there playing music most of the time.

Phone mechman, I have a 2000 f150 4.6l. With these 4.6/5.4 engines there's very minimal belt wrap around the alternator pulley. I was advised not to go over a 240A alt.

I was prepared to order the Mechman 270A but I phoned to place the order and the guy said go with the 240A as with the 270A you'll run into huge belt slip issues. So I went with the 240A. Should be here soon.

Mechman is great, so far they have been excellent to communicate with.
