orion hcca 10.4 cutting out quick when turnt up

so i just got an orion hcca 10.4 sub

i built my own custom box to orions exact specs.... it seems kinda small 1 cubic ft with a 11 inch long port thats measures 2.5 x 2.5 inches tuned at 42ish hz.

i have stock alternater and stock battery ( considering buying a 2nd battery asap) does any1 think this one coud be good for 2000 rms???

my amp is the hifonics bxi 2600 the sub is wired at 2 ohms and the amp puts out 1750 rms at 2 ohm load

subsonic is at about 30 hz i have a 4 gauge wire kit and 14 gauge speaker wire i got from walmart(8gauge is in mail should be here monday)

amp is at 3/4th gain

the sub sounds really good but when i turn up the sub all the way when the gain on the amp is on 3/4th still the sub has cut out on me 2 times. the AMP STILL WAS POWERED ON the sub cut out and i found out that if i just turn my deck off then on the sub plays again. any ideas

i have heard you have to break the orions in for 30 hours before you can push 2000 rms . they have 5 hours on them so far at around 1000 rms . let me know what you think

just wanna put on here that the first time they cut out i was playing them for about an hour at max volume with the gain a tiny less then 3/4th they were really hot cause i took it out of the box to look at it to make sure it wasnt blown.

i have been readying a bunch of review and they keep talking about how power hungery the subs are so i decided to turn the gain up a tiny bit more and put the bass boost on the amp on 2 out of 10 and they cut out in 5 min of slumpin. they were actually sounding pretty loud and i was impressed when i was hitting thou . i dont think i was clipping because it sounded very clean and the amp stayed powered even after the sub cut out...the sub worked 20 sec after it cut out when i turned my deck off then back on

Setting gains to 3/4 does not mean you are gain matched. DD-1 or O-scope can be your freind. Your amp is probably cutting out when it hits too much clipping. 2k watts should be a 1/0 wiring. Big 3 as always recommended. Subs dont cut out, signal cuts out. As for break in time, dont worry about that if your gains are set right

the sub was hot because you was clipping it.. turn the gain down.

I also think if you take the time to clamp that amplifier youll find out your farther under power than you think. I currently have a zues 3200 that by the time you factor in box rise that is barley giving me 1000 watts. and thats with very decent electrical. As far as your cutting out goes, id bet your clipping like crazy.

Also no need to break in the subs and if your box is tuned at 42hz then your subsonic needs to be closer to 37 or so, not 30.

yea the amp is getting hot as hell after 15min of pounding.

i just checked some stuff and the speaker terminals had rattled loose or something cause they were no longer sung but i tightened that up better.

so when ur clipping it makes ur amp overwork it self or something cause its not getting enought power, im new to the term

im guessing installing a second battery would solve it .... anyone know the cheapest dependable route on the 2nd battery and if i just buy the battery by its self what are the kits called that have just the wires.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYONES ADVICE i have a 1994 altima so the alternater and battery are probly junk but the car only has 60k miles and had 1 owner a 90 year old lady lol

also the cone on the orion is getting really hot after playing for like 15min loud . deffinitly not near 2k rms so idk if the box is shit for it but its orions exact specs ima pissed if this sub over heats . i

I had an acenden audio havoc 15 a few years ago and only had a small sealed 15in box and i was using that for a month and it over heated when i decided to skip an aa meeting and play my sub full blast for that hour. ha so thats my fear with the orion!
