So my hopes of getting a VEPR in 7.62x54r at a decent price got shit on 6 weeks ago so I'm looking at another AK variant to add to my collection. i have an AK pistol chambered in 7.62x39 but also like the characteristics of the "poison bullet". Looking around the web the price of bulk ammo is pretty damn close but I was just wondering what you gents think (especially the guys that have a lot of different calibers in their collection).

I'm looking at a Bulgarian AK 74 but after looking at the cost of 5.45 mags (I'd like at least 5), the 7N6 ban making the ammo prices fluctuate and reloading aspect being very limited I'm torn between that or a Yugo O-PAP or Romy M10.

I figured since I have an AR and a stripped lower waiting for parts having a couple AKs would balance it out. Plus there's a big cost difference in assembly between the two.

Expensive tools vs expensive parts.

Been researching aks for hella long but recent events and being in cali have kinda put a damper on things lol.

If I had more funds ammo prices and mag prices wouldn't stop me from getting them. Just my opinion. Also seems like no one likes aks around here.

my thing is for how long will it be cheaper with the russian embargo and obama in power. mil surp ammo will dry up. plus I just dont like em.

I feel ya. Even if combloc ammo comes up to nato prices. Id still get em. Great thing about guns as a hobby. So many options for everyone

WASR is still a great economy gun. With a little know how they are fucking great. Zastava receivers (a few at my shop) have some guide rail issues but still fucking awesome if you have some know how.
