Wood
Better!!! Great job! Now finish them lol im glad I took your advice!! I want these to be flawless. I'm thinking of taking the easy way out and wrapping them though LOL idk if im good enough to finish them with paint. Idk what i need to do it other than body filler I learned from my mistake when I made the first mold lol... Wrapping is definitely the easy way out if you have no experience with body filler... I'm just starting to get that hang of it.... but I wouldn't dare say I'm ready for paint LOL... luckily I like the way vinyl wrap looks compared to paint anyways or I would be SOL!! As far as after putting resin on the cloth, you put down the chop mat.. after the chop mat then the body filler... to get it smooth, you just have to know how to use body filler because that's pretty much the last step before wrapping and prepping for paint 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
SlamminBeats
i was going to add mat on the inside of the pods next. Would mat need to go on the outside to body fill and paint?
tacomaguy1
No...less work on the outside, the easier it is to finish for paint Do it all on the inside if possible Team Flex Issues

Broke_Audio_Addict
Looking good man. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Question is what do i need to do to the top to get it smooth if i dont glass it form the top? just start sanding the resin/felt?? helppp Well if you can lay the mat down smooth, then I say throw a layer on top! but not sand the resin/felt... this is the body filler stage... put the BF on top of it and sand smooth! A tip for body filler that I've learned... when you lay the filler, lay it down with pressure, this helps with less pits.. also start sanding on it when it JUST starts to harden.. it will be clunks on your sandpaper and the body filler will sand like clay almost... about a minute or 2 into it, it will start sanding regular and by this point it be super easy to sand it to shape! (I think this is the green stage that people speak of) I'm not saying my method is right, but it works for me! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
