BigBirdy Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Ok guys as the title says, some dumb shit happened, I got two live speaker wires that touched each other for a split second. They were hooked up to a old school Sherwood home amp. Is there an easy fix? And btw the amp still turns on, and it turns off 6-7 seconds later, with nothing hooked up to it except power. Even when it does turn on for 6-7 seconds I can't change anything through the amp, even things like volume. Thanks guys, and I just want to know if there is an easy fix.
SIDE SHOW Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 check at the back of the unit for a small glass fuse, prob hidden under a black cap
SIDE SHOW Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 if it has no fuse, then i'd say the amp is dead
BigBirdy Posted October 7, 2014 Author Report Posted October 7, 2014 if it has no fuse, then i'd say the amp is dead Ok thanks bro, and if there is a fusr, replacing it would fix it?
Soccerballzs Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 There also may be a fuse inside if not on outside of the unit. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
CstrokerV Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 If it was speaker wires touching probably blew the output. I had pieces taped together for my runs it came apart went to rehook them up still playing loudly touched the 2 and blew my output on my amp the fuse was fine my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
