I would love to get freaky with a metal amp rack and some crazy design but I don't have the facility, nor the skills to do proper metalwork at this stage. It's something I want to learn for the future though! I ended up just knocking up a second 'shelf' to sit the second amp on. It still needs a good cleanup and some nice trimming (I want purple carpet, gotta find some!) and hopefully it will look alright. Not very showy but very strong and I hope also practical. Wires pass through these holes to stop em going stray How the cables run, gotta make some bus bars for under the bottom amp, in the battery box to hook all the power runs up with. RCAs do a similar fashion, Rockford Fosgate twisted pair RCAs The nice RCA jacks on the Z2, much nicer than the Z1a I had previously, which were flimsy plastic. Looking straight on, I really want to trim it up soon :S Thanks for looking guys, and of course all suggestions welcomed. Charger Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Nothing new to report on, just been doing wiring up the back to try and get on top of things. Don't have any black 0awg cable so I had to tape around it. Looks pretty ghetto but hopefully it won't be seen too much. I hope I have very little voltage drop between the batteries and amps. should do the trick I hope. Used all recycled cable and terminals I had laying around from other projects. That's why things don't match neatly. I will probably change it all when I get my bus bars. Where it passes through the first shelf. And the second shelf, top floor anyone? and from the back, I will chop them all the same length so they look somewhat neat, How much clearance I have at the back of the battery box, damn! I was confused and bewildered in the fabric store so I grabbed whatever and left. The job is OK I guess, will do the job for this car but nothing to extravegant... Half way done, ran out of material so it's off to the store to get some more. Cheers guys. Charger Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Trim shop was closed so couldn't trim any more of it. Will have to wait for a few weeks after I rip the back end apart again. Mounted the amps up and did some wiring. It's getting close now RF Twister RCA cables, and the Z2's sexy RCA jacks. Power side, the 0awg cables were a squeeze to get in on that angle, and quite scary too, seeing as everything is live! Got a comp this Sunday and I am hoping to have some sort of bass for then. Should be loud enough for until I get it cranking well I'll try and keep you guys updated, thanks for looking.
