Charger Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 Now the doors aren't anything spectacular to get excited about. Just neat and tidy. I'm a hopless trimmer so I help with that from Alberts Car Stereo in Cannington, WA. They did an excellent job, even though it's extremely plain it doesn't show off their workmanship. It is a very nice job and they did it for a great price which is also a good thing. First of all, the spacer was wrapped with black carpet. Very simple but pretty tidy. I didn't have the patience for fibreglass this time. Test fit of an evil oval speaker Door was wrapped in black vinyl, again nothing showy but tidy enough. Here's the door trim and a test fit. Here's the back of the door trim screwing to the spacer. Heaps of screws like this holding the lot together The lot clips onto the door using the standard trim clips, which don't hold barely any weight (This weighs alot now!!) so we need to give it a hand. 75mm screws (3inch) go through the spacer, through the door trim, and through the car's metal. About eight in each door, all hidden behind where the speaker mounts so not seen. This really really stiffens everything up, not just for midbass performance from the speakers but from the door twisting and flexing from the subwoofers Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Charger Posted January 8, 2009 Author Report Posted January 8, 2009 Okay so we'll step onto the amp rack thingo Out with the old dirty crummy ass one where my Eclipse and PPI once lived But it was useless, I cloned another one for the driver's side The secret with these is I raised them about 20mm off the floor of the car, so there's room underneath... Phoenix Gold distribution block, yummy The space was left underneath for the cables to run underneath, hidden and neat Seats in Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
