serpentine belt wont align striaght on mechman alt

Recommended Posts

Alignment and length are two different things. You're talking about both, so which is the problem?

If the belt is the wrong length, get the right length belt.

If it is misaligned have you replaced all the shims/washers/spacers that the factory alt utilized? If you have can you use your own shim/washer/spacer to put it into alignment?

As with everything else on the internet for the last 14 years, pictures would be of great help.

If you any any type of mechanic shop around you, they can also take a quick look and tell you whats going on probably. With this though you have to find a place that is dependable. You can always give us a call in the office. 888 MECHMAN

ive been busy so havent had time to post pics but tomorrow for sure im gonna get out there and get some pics. when i looked at my old alt and the new alt the old one has a bigger pulley on it so that one had no problem lining up straight and with the mechman alt the pully is smaller so the belt pulls inward on the alt which causes the belt to be off on the tensioner to where it almost wants to slip off i mean its right on the edge
