Miguels
the breaks on those tahoes are shit.. they only have like an inch 1/2 to 2 inches of contact area.. its not a must to do the breaks if he allows distance and not drive like an idiot breaking at the last minute.. trust me his breaks will suffer and i would upgrade them just to be safe. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
SnowDrifter
Do you live on any big hills or similar where you'd be needing to use your brakes a lot? Looking into big brakes would be something you'd need to do if you need better heat dissipation. As far as improving pedal pressure with the extra weight, look into some better calipers. Braided stainless soft lines will help improve pedal feel. 2000lbs is a fair bit of weight don't get me wrong, but nothing different than it would be with a car full of people and towing a trailer. For tires: I know everyone likes the look of the the low profile tires, but TBH I wouldn't consider them for a heavy daily ride with stiffer suspension. Would be too risky with potholes IMO. Pay mind to load ratings and speed ratings on the tires too ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
