evermaxx
Silvarado over here, in houston, went from 53.5 to 55 flat by wiring down and adding more electrical to handle it. So he gained a 1.5 db from electrical upgrades and wiring down... Op doesn't have the electrical. Say he would drop to 11.8v wired @ 1ohms. Wire doe to .5 and drop to 10.5. What he could have gained by dropping doe went out the window with voltage drop. If you can manage to keep voltage at the same point or higher with wiring down I could see a gain. If dropping voltage more and faster your hurting yourself. Would gave been better to do the big 3 and upgraded stock Bart to an agm. well obviously I would advise OP to run .5 like in my post above. Yeah but when he wired down an added batts did he meter before uping electrical and after? If he didn't for all we know he could have gained 1db from wiring and .5 from electrical or vice versa. What if the temp was different or batteries where charged better? Maybe his seat was moved slightly or his visor in a different position? There are lots of variables that could make a difference there. That as an example isn't very good. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. SnowDrifter
No one can guarantee what will happen when running outside of the manufacturer's specs. The amp is rated at 1 ohm. You want to run at half that. Your warranty is void, and YMMV - up to a fire and a full vehicle melt down. If you do it, do it knowing the risks. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
CleanSierra
Nikitaa typically suggests for noobs to run half ohm and be smart about it. It works for him and fantastic, there is nothing wrong with his first hand experience. I won't suggest someone I DON'T know to run below rated impedance with shitty electrical. I don't want someone coming back and saying "you guys told me this would be fine and I fried my shit cause I'm stupid". Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
