texasborn81
First off, I am new to this forum but i always read alot of informative posts here, so i decided to join. I would like some help with an enclosure for my wifes 2015 Sorento. I am working with 2.tang band 6.5 w6 1139sif and 75-100 watts each and would like to build a ported enclosure. The space i am working with is 42" wide, 7.5" tall, and depth I would like to keep to a max of 15". They will be firing forward under under rear seats. Slotted port would be preferred. I greatly appreciate any help with this project. Oh and i would like to use .5" mdf, unless .75" is recommended. Thanks
Joe X
A couple of low power 6.5s in a SUV seem to me like they are going to do next to nothing honestly, at those power levels I would just install a nice 3 way component set with good midbass on your doors and that would probably do the job just fine. Triticum Agricolam
I did a box with four W6-1139SI subs on 400 watts in a crew cab pickup and they did well for what they were. However you are going to be 6 db below what I did in a much bigger cabin. Like JoeX said, you might not be real pleased with the performance. With the box I did I used .25 cubes per sub tuned to 32 Hz I believe. bcbrassard
I remember that box it turned out sick! Never did see vids of how it performed. OP your better off with 1 8" for a sub stage unless you already have the speakers, then make some 3-ways out of them.
