6x5 mid to fit 6x8 factory spot

so im lookin for somethin to make 2 sets of crescendo 6.5 mids to fit in the front doors and rear deck. i read some different reviews and wanted to get your guys opinion on what i should get?

rear deck and front doors are both 6x8 factory size

couldnt find any on metra and im absolute ass at building stuff just being honest. lol

Metra doesn't make a plate to convert 6x8 to 6.5, atleast they didn't last time ordered from them. I believe scosche makes one though.

i was doing some reading on those and came across this

There are no true adapters for 6x8 to 6.5. Do the math, the narrow side of the 6x8 is "6" inches while a 6.5 is, well, half inch bigger.

You can buy one of those kits and mod it, or you can fab up something yourself.

Then get a pair of the 6x8 adapter and mount the trim ring to it and the adpater to the door.

didnt think about that ill probally try that so just mount the rings directly to the adapter?
