A pillar = front windshield trim

B pillar = trim right behind front seats

C pillar = trim right behind back seat

Don't know how to explain it any other way.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

That was perfect, and very informative for such a short post lol. I had it wrong the whole time  So a C-pillar wall it is! :) Should bring my resonant frequency down some and get rid of that horrifying rattle in the back hatch...

I'm no box expert

But before you start messing with a wall (unless you want a wall) I would fix the issues that joe x and bfolko brought

Like I said I'm no box expert

Maybe ask someone knowledgable

If by shrinking cabin space will the resonance frequency lower? Or will it go up?

Also how do you know your cars resonance frequency? Box resonance peak?

A wall on 2 15s will likely be really thin, I'd start with 4 15s for that.

For a test, you can try aiming the port sideways, if you are rattling your rear gate it can lose you some port output, some guys with explorers had gotten good results doing that.

Those issues were covered. Net volume is a little under 4 cubes (like 3.89), which isn't totally optimal but leaves me at around 33Hz. Plenty of port clearance, more than the minimum recommend. I too am certainly no box expert, but have been told that resonant frequency goes down with lower cabin space. For the resonant frequency, I just asked someone with the same vehicle. Frequency with no box is the same, only changes slightly with a smaller box I heard (again, no expert).

I thought two may be a little light for a wall. Four would get me back to a 1ohm load, which is easier when looking for an amp. Two, DC 2k's strapped would be very nice :)

And a friend also recommended to try the port sideways, so I think I will try that when I get out of work. It actually sounds like the bass is going right out the back, especially on the notes that cancel. The window hatch is screwed shut, maybe it is too tight or the seal is off. Will give it all a look when I get home, thanks everyone for the help!
