mporettim Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Animals as Leaders. OK, not really metal, but is heavy at times and awesome at all times. More like instrumental progressive jazz metal. The guy who did it (guitarist Tosin Abasi)is touring with Born of Osiris, and is fully awesome. I've been listening to a lot of August Burns Red lately. This band sounded interesting based off your description, now I REALLY like them, thank you. I'm also digging that pendulum song, unfortunately that's there only good song because they did with In Flames. Let me add a couple a more and reiterate some: Gojira, Didn't like this band at first but now they are one of my favs http://www.youtube.c...h?v=XoUbeKKlo8k Nevermore is probably my favorite (vid quality is kinda poor) http://www.youtube.c...feature=related Dragonlord (Black metal) Turisas, Folk/Battle metal, they have a full-time accordionist and fiddlest

nyte Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I know new metal. Old metal is played out from where I'm from. Bands I know of that I haven't seen listed: Strapping young lad -- (They have these REALLY LOUD RANDOM Bass drops for no reason at all lol) In flames -- LOTS OF SCREAMING! Job for a Cowboy -- If you want to meet the devil, listen to these guys. Lol.
OrionStang Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Just checked out Strapping Young Lads. It's been quite a while since I heard this type of metal, found myself getting tense and kinda angry lol. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
nyte Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 yea man, they are a pretty intense band. Lol. Screaming for no reason, to the tune of "I hate you." etc. etc. but the random bass drops are cool I think Try the song "Sh*tstorm" or "Shine" I think those are two that have random bass drops, if you didn't hear them.
