The local car audio shop recommended me Kenwood eXcelon shallow mount subs: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment_2013/eXcelon/Subwoofers/KFC-XW1200F

And eXcelon amp XR900-5. with 4 gauge wire

Well seems like he was planning to offer a discount on the package deal. I'd call them up I'm sure they could work with your budget and space requirements.

Yeah he wanted $2100 at first then he cut the price as best as he can to $1300

I would never pay even $1300 dollars for that. You buy two shallow mounts, a 5 channel amp and a amp kit for MUCH less, IF you could do the install yourself.

most shallow mount subs aren't all that great.. and what was posted isnt a bad deal..... can he do cheaper sure but i wouldn't go shallow mount subs

I know shallows aren't that great, I was just saying if he insisted on that route it could be alot cheaper than that. Unless his price included a decent headunit, I do not think it is that good of a deal at all.

Someone said that the mounting depth for that box he wanted was 8 1/4" or something like that.. its from that he can fit full size 12" subs in there no problem..

My advice, look up the stuff they are trying to sell you on google. Tally it all up and compare it to the price the shop is giving you. If you think it is worth it after that then go for it. But you will def save a lot of money if you do the install yourself.
