Thuginfc Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 The new doors for my car are going to house two 6.5s and one 5.25 plus some tweeters. I will be running all SKAR since I made a deal with my buddy to do so. I already have a set of the spx 5.25 components So question is should I: 1. run their PAX pro audios wich I would buy super tweets with? 2.should I buy their spx 6.5 component sets and run the tweets that came with them 3.option 2 plus some super tweets Need to know as I'm ordering tomorrow. I will be running active off of either a Rockford 3six3 or an audio control. On 2 skar 80.4s for the front doors. I am running off a pioneer double din screen dvd4300(I think) and 2 skar zvx 15s on an hcca 5000d (soon to be skar 4500.1) in about 8 cube tuned at 32hz new box coming soon too prolly 10+ cubes tuned around 30 All this in a trunk car 2000 Deville. I will make a build log soon.
islandpride684 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 So are you going active or passive? Since using the comp sets will defeat the purpose of going active....I would do the pro audios... gckless Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 So are you going active or passive? Since using the comp sets will defeat the purpose of going active....I would do the pro audios... How so? Just don't use the passive crossover. Also, says active in OP. OP, where is the 5.25 coming from? You running 3-way? My suggestion is always comp sets, I've never heard a PA setup I liked. Just my opinion though, plenty like them. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Plenty of benefits for running active vs passive. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. The 5.25 is just what I had already and I could squeeze it into where I wanted and couldn't another 6.5 so I figured I might as well use them. The back doors are gonna get a 6.5 and a 5.25 in the future also. And yes ima be running 3 way. I just got an audiobahn ax306x in a deal so might just run that. Any problems running that three way??

Not really a good way of thinking if you want it to perform well. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Anyhow I started on the panels today and decided on an 8, a 6.5and a 5.25.
