KWP369
there should be a screw by the throttle body... just turn it either way and listen if it goes up or down, if ur engines seems like it idles lower turn it the other way... just keep turnin it like 1/8 of a turn at a time then go check ur rpm and keep increasin it till u get to where u like it.... i think the screw adjusts how for the throttle is open when not on the gas (correct me if i'm wrong ppl) Quote Do you read ur own response b4 you post?...or just type ur gut reaction and headbutt the enter key? How bout this, the Caddy sounds so damn good it can put a smile on a "deaf mans" face mat then mix hardener into resin and soak mat. beeeeeyaw glassing for n00bs

wL<3bass
Yup thats why I like older cars not electronic throttle control, my car doesn't like to idle below 750rpm or it stutters so increased it to 900. talentfinder36
If you have a throttle body then you will have the screw. Its called a BISS screw check a local Explorer forum and they could prob show you exactly where its at. That is the only way to set the idle with out using a engine manager or controller. I'll try to look in my database for you. Quote Mark 99 Eclipse Spyder

talentfinder36
You can't use a turbo timer to up your idle speed unless you have a turbo the only way to change it is through the ecu or manually through the biss screw. What kind of controller do you have? Edited April 5, 2008 by talentfinder36 Quote Mark 99 Eclipse Spyder
sully
I've been lookin for this for my 03 f-150 as well so that i can flip a switch to raise the idle up some when i am parked to keep the battery bank charged better. The smaller alternator pulleys just aren't enough. Hopefully someone here can shed some light on the situation. If the engine control unit for tuning is the only option then it is pretty expensive but you will be able to monitor performance as well.
