S15_Silvia
'clipping' is actually when you push the fets (transistors) within the deck or amp(s) into saturation, which means it's the point where you are 'asking too much' of them and they can't output past a certain voltage. The waveform that would be above/below (+/-) of this voltage simply doesn't make it out the other side since the fets can't produce it. So what comes out looks like this: EDIT: and if you're clipping up at the deck and send a signal looking like that^^ to the amp, it only compounds the issue. And if you're clipping at the deck AND clipping at the amp, well holy hell I feel bad for the speakers. The encoding of an MP3 file (128kbps) is not necessarily a source of clipping, but may contain distortion from the loss of information from the original recording. Fuck it, just graduated in electrical engineering so it's time to flex some of that knowledge. 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. rockFord_Expedition
---- Tune your system with the type and source of music in mind. This means that if you KNOW you are going to play music produced at a, how to say this, less than optimal quality, then you should also be prepared to not get the most out of your system because you're going to have to back things down more than normal. Things like EQ settings, volume, gains.. etc. Yes you're going to leave yourself with alot to be desired but you can't play low quality files at nice loud levels AND keep all of your gear safe. Sort your music by quality so you know what you can bang and what you have to listen to at lower levels. --- Speak to others that are into the same genres you are and see if there is a source for 320kbs files or better. Soccerballzs
Are you running a Epicenter for bass? If so that is a big cause of dirty signal. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
Dragonware
Sub lead wires use to blow even before I added the epicenter. I removed the bass knob from the amp....and it sounded like the bass went FULL....bass boost on the amp is at 0, but when i had the bass knob it was at 25% now without it it sounds like its on full but sounds good tho. its possible to get 320kb on my music just will have to work harder at it. Hotdog
The highest quality you will get for your car is the Original CD. Even remasters and greatest hits CD suffer in quality compared to originals. you may have a box problem. Maybe your subs are unloading and ripping the leads?
